Yuxin Zhao

Yuxin Zhao received his Ph.D. degree in navigation, guidance, and control from Harbin Engineering University (HEU) in China in 2005 and completed postdoctoral research in control science and engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2008. In 2002, he visited Moscow Bauman University of Russia, and in 2004, he was awarded scholarship of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs for visiting Levin Institute of State University of New York (SUNY). Dr. Zhao is now an Associate Professor (doctoral tutor) at College of Automation of HEU. He is the Senior Member of China Navigation Institute, the Senior Member of Chinese Society for Oceanography, and Member of Mission Planning Committee of Chinese Society of Astronautics. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of several international journals, including International Journal of Advancements in Computing Technology, International Journal of Digital Content Technology and its Applications, International Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics, and International Journal of Computational Science, and he has acted as session Chair of CSO’09 and CSO’11. He has published 4 books and more than 30 papers. His research interests include marine navigation system, geospatial intelligence, marine GIS (geographic information system), and intelligent transportation system. In addition, Dr. Zhao has supervised 10 undergraduates and graduates (of M.S. and Ph.D. degrees) in the last 4 years and developed collaborations with many institutes and universities (such as Earth System Research Laboratory, NOAA, USA, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of CAS, and Harbin Institute of Technology) in the world.
