Shehnaaz Jivraj was born in Mombasa, Kenya. She obtained her M.B.C.H.B. degree from the University of Sheffield, UK, in 1995. She obtained her M.R.C.O.G. degree in 2000. Her research interests are in thrombophilia and adverse pregnancy outcome. She was awarded the M.D. degree from Imperial College London for her thesis on genetic thrombophilia and recurrent miscarriage. She works currently as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Her special interests are in infertility, recurrent miscarriage, obstetric hematology, and late effects of cancer. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, UK.
