Sean R. Moore
Sean R. Moore serves as a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Laboratory at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with a broadly interest in the reciprocal cycle of childhood diarrhea and malnutrition, and a current focus on the mechanisms of a promising glutamine-based oral rehydration and nutrition therapy. Using cellular and molecular techniques in both cell culture and an infant mouse model of undernutrition, he has studied the role of EGFR—a key regulator of intestinal homeostasis—in glutamine’s benefits for intestinal health. Moore earned his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md, USA, in 2003, with residency in Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn, USA, in 2006, and fellowship at Vanderbilt University, in 2009.
