Bernhard Lieb

Bernhard Lieb studied biology at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg (Germany). He obtained his doctoral degree in 1996 working on an RNA-associated protein of newts. He then moved to Mainz, and in 2002 he did his Habilitation for Zoology in the Institute of Molecular Animal Physiology. In 2011 he received a Apl. Professorship. He is now studying the mechanisms of the differential expression of respiratory proteins in Molluscs , the structural evolution of hemocyanins and hemocyanin genes and also is investigating the evolutionary relationship of molluscs and their relatives, e.g. sipunculids and entoprocts.
