Jaya N. Sahu

Jaya N. Sahu was born in 1976. He received his B. Tech. degree in chemical engineering from Berhampur University, Berhampur, Orissa, India, and his Ph.D. degree from IIT Kharagpur, India, both are in chemical engineering. Dr. Sahu has a total of eleven years of teaching, research, consultancy, and projects experience. Dr. Sahu is presently holding the post of Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India. Prior to this he worked for two years as Research Intern at the Department of Methane Emission & Degasification, Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (Erstwhile Central Mining Research Institute), CSIR, Government of India, Dhanbad, India. In addition, he worked as a Consulting Engineer at A&M Technologies (Thermax Franchise), Visakhapatnam, from August 2002 to March 2004. Research and consultancy expertise are in the fields of industrial pollution control & management, hazardous waste management and safety, separation processes, optimization, adsorption, chemical reaction engineering, bio-oil production & upgradation, coal and biomass gasification, coal bed methane and CO2 sequestration, and conventional and nonconventional energy. To date, Dr. Sahu has published more than 70 research articles in international journals/conferences.
