Munekazu Iinuma is a Professor of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Gifu Pharmaceutical University in Gifu, Japan. He received his Ph.D. degree in flavonoids chemistry from Gifu Pharmaceutical University (1980). Prior to his present appointment, he was an Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy in Gifu Pharmaceutical University and the director of Gifu Prefectural Institute of Health and Environmental Sciences in Kakamigahara, Gifu. He was a Postdoctoral Scientist supported by ein Forschungsstipendium der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung in Institut fuer Pharmazeutische Biologie der Universitaet Muenchen, Deutschland (1985-1986). His main research interests are secondary metabolites with small molecule and their application to medicines and functional foods.
