Ricardo Schiappa received his Physics Undergraduate degree from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, in 1994. He proceeded to graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was awarded a Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics in 1999. From 1999 to 2002, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in string theory at the Harvard University. Later, he became a Research Fellow at CERN's TH-Division, from 2005 to 2008, where he conducted research in string theory and mathematical physics. Since 2008 he has been a Researcher at the Department of Mathematics of the Instituto Superior Técnico, where his research activities are focused on diverse aspects of mathematical physics and string theory.
