Frank H Bloomfield

Frank Bloomfield is a Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician at National Women's Health, Auckland, New Zealand and an Associate Professor of neonatology at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. He is also a Member of the National Research Centre for Growth and Development, Auckland, New Zealand. Bloomfield was trained in England, taking a First-Class Honors in experimental immunology and oncology and his Medical degree from the University of Manchester, Auckland, New Zealand, where he took a Ph.D. degree in paediatrics and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Sydney, Australia . He studied at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. Bloomfield?sresearch interests are in fetal and neonatal nutrition, growth, and development. He is particularly interested in the early pregnancy determinants of fetal developmental and growth trajectories and in the long-term consequences of disordered fetal and neonatal nutrition and growth. Bloomfield is currently the President of the Perinatal Society of New Zealand, Auckland, New Zealand and continues to combine clinical practice with experimental and clinical research.
