Sedat Yurdakal received his high degree in chemistry, in 2000, at the University of Anadolu, Eskisehir, Turkey (1977). He started to work as a Research Assistant at Afyon Kocatepe University, Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, in 2001. He got the M.S. degree at Science Institute of Anadolu University in 2003. He performed his Ph.D. degree thesis work at the University of Palermo, Palermo, Italy, and at University of Anadolu, from 2003 to 2010. During his Ph.D. degree works at the University of Palermo, Italy, from September 2005 to January 2010, he worked under supervision of Professor Leonardo Palmisano and Professor Vincenzo Augugliaro. He worked also on ATR-FTIR analysis of TiO2 nanoparticles, in Instituto de Catalisis y Petroleoquimica in Madrid, Spain, for about one month in 2008. Currently, he works as an Associate Professor at Afyon Kocatepe University. He has published several papers and reviews in international journals and books on many different areas of heterogeneous photocatalysis, such as selective photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic oxidations, remediation of harmful compounds, thin films, photocatalytic reactor applications, and preparation of new materials containing TiO2.
