Dina Tiniakos obtained her Medical degree from the Medical School, University of Patras, Greece, 1987, a Ph.D. degree from the Medical School, University of Athens, Greece 1993, and a Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, 1998. She is an Associate Professor of histology, embryology at the Medical School, University of Athens, Greece. Her medical specialty is histopathology, and her special interests are in liver pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, and paleopathology. Her research areas are in chronic liver disease with focus on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatocarcinogenesis, tumor angiogenesis, ontogenesis of intrinsic innervation of human solid organs, and paleopathology.
