Stéphanie Bury-Moné received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in microbiology from the University of Paris VII, Paris, France, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. She serves as an Assistant Professor at the École Normale Supérieure, Cachan, France. She is a Microbial Diseases Section Editor for the third edition of the Encyclopedia of Human Biology (Elsevier). Her research is on the study of host-pathogen interactions in different bacterial (Helicobacter pylori, Escherichia coli, Vibrio tapetis) and viral (HIV, XMRV, Merkel cell virus, and related vectors) models. Her current research is on the impact of DNA repair machinery status on retroviral and polyomaviral expression, retroviral vector design, and analysis of human endogenous retroviruses expression. Her areas of expertise include bacteriology, genomics, retrovirology, vector design, and gene transfer.
