John W. Berkenbosch

John W. Berkenbosch was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1966. He received his undergraduate training in genetics at both the University of King's College and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He received his M.D. from the University of Calgary in 1993 after which he completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Alberta and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at McGill University/Montreal Children's Hospital. Following the completion of his fellowship, he spent 5 years on faculty at the University of Missouri-Columbia in pediatric critical care. In 2004, he joined the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville, where he currently serves as a Professor of pediatrics/pediatric critical care. He also works as the Medical Director of the University Children's Sedation Service and is an active Member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Society for Pediatric Sedation. His primary research interests involve pharmacology, pediatric sedation, and pediatric pain.
