Bruno Carpentieri received his Laurea degree in applied mathematics from the Bari University, Bari, Italy, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, Toulouse, France, in 2002. After completing his Ph.D. degree, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the CERFACS Institute in Toulouse, France, from 2003 to 2004, and at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria, from 2005 to 2008. He also served as a Consultant on European projects at CRS4 in Sardinia, Italy, from 2008 to 2009. Since January 2010, he has been serving as a University Assistant at the Johann Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. His research interests include numerical linear algebra, multilevel iterative solvers and preconditioners for solving systems of linear equations, parallel computing, computational fluid dynamics, computational electromagnetics, and cardiac modeling.
