I. EDUCATION 2002 Ph.D. Molecular and Cellular Biology, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. 1986 M. Sc. Microbiology, Pune University, India. 1984 B. Sc. Microbiology, Pune University, India. II. EXPERIENCE April 2010 - Present Research Scientist We are conducting in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo experiments in the rhesus monkey to understand the immunopathogenesis of Lyme neuroborreliosis, an inflammatory neurodegenerative disease. Understanding the signaling mechanisms by which the cells of the neurovascular network as well as the neuro-glial network interact with the immune system under healthy as well as disease states is fundamental in understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of inflammatory neurodegenerative diseases of both the central nervous system and peripheral neuropathies. 2005 -2009 NIH Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Study of the Immunopathogensis of Lyme neuroborreliosis in the rhesus monkey model of Lyme disease, with Dr. Mario T. Philipp, Division of Bacteriology and Parasitology, TNPRC. 2002 -2005 NIH Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Study of the Immunopathogensis of Simian Immunodeficiency Virus and Colitis in the rhesus monkey with Dr. Andrew A. Lackner, Director, Division of Comparative Pathology,TNPRC. April 2002 Ph.D. Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB), Graduate School of Tulane University New Orleans, LA. 1994 - 1996 Medical Research Technician, Pathology Department, TNPRC, Covington, LA. 1986 - 1990 Research and Teaching Assistant. Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Fellow, India. III.
