Imelda Juárez-Avelar



Imelda Juárez-Avelar has M.S. degree awarded by UNAM and a graduate degree in biological sciences. Juárez-Avelar working experience includes the following: the involvement of MIF in a mouse model of colorectal cancer , Toxoplasma gondii infection, and activity in a murine model of type II diabetes mellitus. Juárez-Avelar is Teaching Assistant Professor "B" in the career of biology in clinical analysis and Technical Titular "A" TC in UBIMED Innate Immunity Laboratory, from 2014 to date. Juárez-Avelar joined the National System of Researchers: level Candidate 2012, Division Research and Graduate Studies and SNI allocation of 7,000 (seven thousand pesos 00/100) for the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Juárez-Avelar is Member of CONACYT Registry Assessors Accredited (QSAR). Juárez-Avelar’s international publications are as follows: “Altered Macrophage and Dendritic Cell Response in Mif−/− Mice Reveals a Role of Mif for Inflammatory-Th1 Response in Type 1 Diabetes”; “MIF Promotes Classical Activation and Conversion of Inflammatory Ly6Chigh Monocytes into TipDCs during Murine Toxoplasmosis”; and “Adoptive Transfer of CD4+Foxp3+ Regulatory T Cells to C57BL/6J Mice during Acute Infection with Toxoplasma gondii Down Modulates the Exacerbated Th1 Immune Response.”
