Zhan Kang

Zhan Kang is a Professor at Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, Liaoning, China. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1992 and received his M.Eng. degree in mechanics from Dalian University of Technology in 1992 and his Dr.-Ing. degree in aerospace and aeronautic engineering from Stuttgart University, Germany, in 2005. His current research involves issues such as topology optimization, nondeterministic structural optimization, design optimization of smart structures, and multiscale computation. Kang has published more than 45 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and one monograph and received more than 300 citations. He has been the principal investigator of four projects of the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and a Key Project of Chinese National Programs for Fundamental Research and Development (973 Project). He has also conducted multiple consultancy projects.
