Sidong Xiong

Prof. Sidong Xiong is a prominent immunologist. As a native of Chinese, he received his PhD degrees of Medicine from Shanghai Medical University in 1992. He had the experience of working as a Post-Doctor in INSERM U271 (Lyon, France) from 1994-1994, and a Visiting Professor of University of California at San Diego, U.S.A from 1995-1998. He was promoted to Director of Department of Immunology, Shanghai Medical University in 1998. In 2005, he was named Director of Institute for ImmunoBiology, Fudan University. And he moves to Soochow University as the vice president and the Director of Institute of Biology and Medical Sciences since 2009. He serves as the executive members of Chinese Association of Immunologists (CAI), Chairman of Shanghai Association of Immunologists (SAI), and member of American Association of Immunology (AAI). He has had an outstanding teaching and research career in Virology and Immunology for nearly 25 years. His research interest focuses on immunological mechanism and intervention strategy of infectious disease and autoimmune disease. He has 88 publications in journals such as Nature-Biotech, PNAS, Hepatology, Cir Res, J Immunol, Faseb J, J Virol, Rheumatology, et al. His work has won him National Outstanding Youth (China) and Outstanding Scholars Award (HongKong Qiushi Science and Technologies Foundation).
