Joseph Virgone

Joseph Virgone obtained a Diploma of doctor engineer, INSA of Lyon, Lyon, France, in 1982; a Diploma of civil engineer of the INSA of Lyon in 1980, at the National institute of Sciences Applied of Lyon. Since 2009, he works as a Full Professor, to IUT A of Lyon 1, department of Civil Engineering, research tasks to the CETHIL ((Lyon Centre of Thermal Science) (UMR 5008), Thermal Building Team. The CETHIL is a laboratory under the double supervision of the INSA and the University Lyon 1, associated to CNRS. From 1985 to 2009, he served as an Assistant professor in the same institutes. From 1982 to 1985, he served as an Engineer of research to the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Center of the Building industry) in the Champs-sur-Marne, Thermal and Aeraulic Service of the Systems and the Envelopes. He has advised and presented 13 doctoral theses, with 4 other doctoral theses in course. Virgone has also presented more than 180 articles in conferences and 30 in international journals. His national activities in progress include participation in 3 French ANR projects and leading one of them. His international activities include participation in an European project (SEEMPUBS); leading WP1; collaborations with Politecnico di Torino, University of Rio de Janeiro, PUCPR of Curitiba, and UTCB of Bucharest.
