Mikael Elias received his B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2006) degrees from Université de Lorraine (France) and his Ph.D. degree (2009) from Universite Aix-Marseille (Marseilles, France). He received the Young Scientist award Dina-Surdin from the French Biochemical Society (2009). Elias joined the Weizmann Institute of Science (Rehovot, Israel) as a Postdoctoral FEBS Fellow (2009), where he worked as a Visiting Scientist, being a Marie Curie Fellow in 2010, with Professor Dan. S. Tawfik. Since the fall of 2014, Elias is appointed as Professor (assistant) at the University of Minnesota (USA). His current fields of research encompass molecular biology, biochemistry, structural enzymology, protein evolution, molecular docking, molecular recognition and design, sub-Angstrom resolution X-ray structures, and crystallographic methods.
