Sang Yoon Nam

Sang Yoon Nam currently works as a Professor in the Lab of Vet. Anatomy, College of Veterinary Medicine, Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, Korea; the Director of Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine (National Key Research Institute of Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology). He has obtained the following academic degrees: a D.V.M. degree in veterinary medicine from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea; an M.S. degree in toxicologic pathology from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea; a Ph.D. degree in molecular reproductive biology and embryology from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. His areas of expertise include functional analysis of SOD and GPx on embryogenesis, searching of natural products against teratogenesis induced by alcohol and nicotine, functional analysis of selenoproteins on spermatogenesis, studies on endocrine disrupting chemicals cause to abnormal spermatogenesis, and stem cell therapy for male infertility. He served as an Editor of the following journals: Korean Journal of Veterinary Research (2005), Korean Journal of Laboratory Animal Science (2005), Journal of Reproduction and Development (Japanese Society of Animal Reproduction) (2003), Journal of Biomedical Research (Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine) (2008); as well as a Vice Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Morphology (Asian Association of Veterinary Anatomists) (2006).
