Bamidele A. Iwalokun

Bamidele Abiodun Iwalokun has a professional training in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics and holds a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry since 2005 and an e-tech Diploma in information technology. He currently works as a Senior Research Fellow at Biochemistry and Nutrition Division, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. His research focuses on the biochemistry of diseases processes involving malaria, diarrheal disease, and noninfectious diseases such as sickle cell anemia and fatty liver diseases. Human-related biomarkers of current interest include adiponectin, leptin, PEMT, heat shock proteins, and bioactive principles in antimalarial and antihypertensive plants in south west Nigeria.
