Y. Sahai

Y. Sahai was born on October 17, 1938, and received the B.S. degree (from Allahabad University, India, 1957); the M.S. degree (in technology, a three-year postgraduate degree; Allahabad University, 1960); the D. Phil. degree (Allahabad University, March 1966). Dr. Sahai worked as a Research Fellow at CSIR, India, at Allahabad University from November 1960 to October 1962; as a Lecturer at the Department of Applied Physics and Technology, Allahabad University, from October 1962 to April 1971; at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espacias (INPE, National Institute for Space Research), Sao Jose Campos, SP, Brazil, from May 1971 to December 1998; promoted as Full Professor and Senior Research Scientist in 1980 at INPE from where retired in December 1998; Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Calgary, Canada, from March 1992 to February 1994; Visiting Professor at Solar-Terrestrial Environment Laboratory (STELAB), Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan, from March 2000 to August 2000; at present as a Full Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Universidade do Vale do Paraiba (UNIVAP, University of Paraiba Valley), Sao Jose Campos, SP, Brazil, from January 2002. Dr. Sahai is has an experience of more than 50 years of teaching and research; has published more than 120 papers in indexed journals and 5 chapters in published books; has organized 3 special sessions at 3 COSPAR (Committee for Space Research) scientific assemblies and 1 special session at the AGU (American Geophysical Union) meeting; has served as the Chief-Editor for 1 issue of Annales Goephysicae and two issues of Advances in Space Research.
