Jijo James, Ph.D., completed his B.E. degree in civil engineering in 2006, M.E. degree in soil mechanics and foundation engineering in 2008 from Anna University, Chennai, India. Thereafter, he joined Tagore Engineering College, Chennai, India, the same year as Lecturer in civil engineering and was promoted as Assistant Professor in the year 2010. He registered for pursuing his doctorate as a part time research scholar in Anna University, Chennai, and completed his Doctoral degree in the Faculty of Civil Engineering in 2017. His areas of interest include soil stabilization, solid wastes in soil engineering, stabilized soil blocks, geoenvironmental engineering, and soil based civil engineering materials. He has authored/coauthored more than 40 papers in national and international journals and conferences. He has successfully supervised 33 undergraduate dissertations as either supervisor or joint supervisor. He has also shouldered responsibilities at various levels in organizing national and international conferences for his institution of work. He is also a Reviewer for journals like Journal of Solid Waste Technology and Management, International Journal of Pavement Research and Technology and Disaster Advances. He is currently pursuing his research ambition of effective utilization of solid wastes in low cost civil engineering materials.
