Xiaowen Wang currently works as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, USA. He holds a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from UCLA, an M.S. degree in fluid mechanics, and a B.S. degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China. Wang is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He has been worked as Member of the AIAA Thermophysics Technical Committee, the AIAA Applied Aerodynamics Technical Committee, and the AIAA Fluid Dynamics Technical Committee since 2009. Wang’s research interests include high-order numerical methods, CFD of thermochemical nonequilibrium flows, stability analysis and transition control of hypersonic boundary layers, direct numerical simulation of shock, and turbulence interaction.
