Josef Veselka is a recipient of the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He attended the 1st Medical School of Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic and graduated in 1989. He has been at the General University Hospital and 1st Medical School of Charles University since 1989, where he completed a clinical fellowship and training in interventional cardiology. Dr. Veselka is a Professor of Medicine, the Chief of Cardiovascular Center, and the Chief of the Department of Cardiology, University Hospital Motol and 2nd Medical School of Charles University. He published 250 papers and 5 textbooks on cardiology. He became a Fellow of several cardiovascular societies: European Society of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Angiography, and Interventions and International College of Angiology. His main expertise and interest is in interventional cardiology and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
