Just Cebrian

Just Cebrian was born in Alicante, Spain, in 1968. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in 1996. He did a postdoctoral period at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass, USA, from 1997 to 2000. In 2000, he joined the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium at The Dauphin Island Sea Lab (Ala, USA) as a Senior Marine Scientist I and the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of South Alabama as an Assistant Professor. He serves currently as a Senior Marine Scientist II and an Associate Professor. His interests are broad and revolve around the ecology of marine coastal ecosystems, with an emphasis on their structure and functioning, controls of their goods and services, and anthropogenic impacts on their integrity and well-being. To date, he has coauthored more than 70 scientific publications on related topics. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the research journals Marine Ecology Progress Series, Gulf and Caribbean Research, The Open Oceanography Journal, and The Open Marine Biology Journal. He is also a Member of the International Ecology Institute, a nonprofit organization composed of renowned ecologists dedicated to fostering ecological knowledge and awareness.
