Hassen M. Ouakad

Hassen M. Ouakad received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tunisia Polytechnic School, La Marsa, Tunisia, in 2007, the M.S. degree in computational mechanics through a graduate program of Virginia Tech at Tunisia Polytechnic School, La Marsa, Tunisia, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton, Binghamton, NY, USA, in 2010. Since 2011, Dr. Ouakad has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where he is currently heading the Micro- and Nanosystems Laboratory Group. Ouakad serves as a Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering (IJAME) (http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/ijame). He, moreover, holds a US patent for control of stamp deformation in microcontact printing. His research interests are focused on nonlinear dynamics and vibration of MEMS and NEMS with applications in sensing and actuation. In addition, he is the recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Academic Achievement in Graduate Studies Award from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Watson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at SUNY B, Binghamton, NY, USA. Professor Ouakad, furthermore, serves as a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
