Katerina Venderova

Katerina Venderova is a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at Dr. David Park’s Laboratory at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Ottawa, Ont., Canada. She received her Ph.D. degree in toxicology at the Charles University in Prague and finished her first postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Jonathan Brotchie at the Toronto Western Research Institute. Venderova's main area of expertise is molecular pharmacology and genetics of neurodegenerative disorders, especially of Parkinson’s disease. In her research, she has employed a wide range of animal models of Parkinson’s disease, from Drosophila to nonhuman primates. Her current major project is elucidating the role of LRRK2 in the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease.
