F. Christopher Pigge

F. Christopher Pigge was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, USA, in 1967. He received his B.A. degree majoring in chemistry from the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, in 1989. He then attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1993 under the direction of Professor Thomas N. Sorrell. He then served as a Postdoctoral Associate in the laboratories of Professor James H. Rigby at Wayne State University from 1994 to 1996. He then began his independent career in 1996 as an Assistant Professor of chemistry at the University of Missouri. He was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2002, and in 2005, he assumed his current position as an Associate Professor of chemistry at the University of Iowa. His research interests span the areas of synthetic organic and supramolecular chemistry
