Photomicrographs showing the PAS reactivity within glandular epithelium (arrow) of the prostate gland of the donkey. Strong PAS positive reaction was observed during spring (a). This reaction decrease in intensity during summer (b) and becomes moderate during autumn (c). During winter (d), the majority of the secretory end pieces are weakly reacted, except the lipofuscin granules. Weakly reacted smooth muscle fiber bundles and connective tissue stroma (asterisk).
