Eigenvalues of the maximum real parts show that the delay 𝜏₂ increasing promotes the system dynamic from resting state into periodic spiking for 𝑐=1.0, 𝜏₁=1.0 (a) and suppresses ones from periodic activity into resting state for 𝑐=1.2, 𝜏₁=0.1 (b), where the other parameters are fixed as 𝑎=0.33, 𝑏=1, and 𝛾=0.47.
