Advanced Computational Techniques for Human Musculoskeletal System

Call for Papers

Human musculoskeletal system played a key role which enables humans to move. However, when disorders and diseases take place, the complications may adversely affect the function of both static and dynamic tasks and effectiveness of the system. With the advancement of computational techniques, computational modeling, computing, and application have become a very important research subject in bionics and biomechanics and made significant progress bringing forward our understanding.

The aim of this Special Issue is to present and discuss advanced computational techniques in healthy and impaired human musculoskeletal systems as well as those receiving treatments. Example includes advanced modeling and computing in the human musculoskeletal system during movements. This Special Collection is intended to become a new international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent development and ideas.

We invite you to submit an article that addresses and explores advanced computational techniques in bionics and biomechanics for human musculoskeletal system.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Nonlinear finite element modeling for human musculoskeletal system
  • Optimizing human musculoskeletal system using smart computing
  • Application of artificial Intelligence in bionics and biomechanics
  • Sensors and algorithms for human motion analysis
  • Computational sport science and rehabilitation
  • Use of smart phones and apps for the assessment of human movement
