A Simple Method to Control the Growth of Copper Oxide Nanowires for Solar Cells and Catalytic Applications

SEM images for CuO NWs obtained by thermal oxidation of copper foils at 550°C for 4 h The heating rates are (a) 1°C/min; (b) 2°C/min; (c) 5°C/min; and (d) 10°C/min. While the diameter is almost the same in all samples, the NW density slightly decreases with increasing the heating rate.
