Mean MMP-9 protein levels secreted from PBMC. PBMC from three different normal controls. MMP-9 levels secreted from ConA-stimulated PBMC is decreased following treatment with DHA and EPA when compared to an untreated ConA-stimulated PBMC control. OA served as an oil control and showed no significant decrease in MMP-9 levels at any concentration. PBMC were pretreated for 2 hr in the presence of 10, 25, and 50 μg/mL of one of the following, DHA, EPA, or OA.
