Evolutionary Fuzzy Systems

Call for Papers

Evolutionary fuzzy systems (EFS) integrate both the management of imprecision/uncertainty and inherent interpretability of fuzzy system, with the learning and adaptation capabilities of evolutionary algorithm. The EFS find immense application in various domains like pattern recognition, process control, health care, finance, power system, and so forth. Over the years, many different approaches have been proposed to develop the fuzzy systems through evolutionary algorithm. However, with the recent advances in computing and technology, novel and challenging problems are generated every day. All these issues have motivated the researchers to make an effort in realizing new ways of addressing them with evolutionary fuzzy systems.

The purpose of this special issue is to invite new original research papers and studies covering recent advances in the design of evolutionary fuzzy system and its applications. Also this special issue will promote the challenging task of designing the fuzzy system and collection of optimization algorithms intended to solve the real world problems in a multifaceted way.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Adaptive fuzzy system
  • Multiobjective algorithms for fuzzy system
  • Interpretability-accuracy trade-off
  • Type-2 fuzzy system
  • Adaptive defuzzification methods
  • Semantic interpretability measures
  • Integration of decision makers preference
  • TSK fuzzy rule based system
  • Fuzzy association rule mining
  • Hierarchical and incremental fuzzy system
  • Nonstationary and distributed fuzzy system
  • Evolutionary fuzzy system for big data
  • Industrial applications of evolutionary fuzzy system
