Advances in Human-Computer Interaction in Sports

Call for Papers

Sports engineering and technology have been growing in the last decade aiming to quantify and optimize performance through a particular design or method. There are several applications in sports from the materials designing to specific algorithms created to detect or predict performance. Such advances lead to a growing interest in the scientific field.

Based on that, we aim to create a special issue that allows publishing new advances in the field of human computer interaction on sports that can provide useful information to scientists, engineers, and sport scientists. Reviews, surveys, or meta-analyses are also welcome to this special issue.

Human-computer interaction aims to focus on the design of computer technology and, in particular, the interaction of the users and computer. In the field of sports, it is necessary an easy and user-friendly way to connect the user with the computers to access the data and amplify the visualization of performance. Based on that, it is important to open a call for this specific topic of research.

The aims of this special issue is to provide in-depth knowledge in the form of original work, review articles, and meta-analyses about the aspects of human-computer interaction in sports.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Human-computer interaction with sport devices and systems
  • Computer mediated communication methods in sports
  • Micro- and nanotechnologies applied in mobile, wearable, and ubiquitous computing systems for sports
  • Adaptive and intelligent systems in sports
  • Augmented and virtual reality in sports
  • Agent-based interface signal processing in human movement

Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at
