Sensitivity study for soil moisture on surface skin temperature. In the control run, initial soil moisture is interpolated from NCEP FNL analysis, and in the sensitivity run, soil moisture in Beijing is set as a small value (0.001 m3/m3). The surface albedo is set as 0.10. The experiment area is over Beijing (39.7–40.1°N, 116.1–116.7°E). The unit of the -axis is Kelvin (K).
