Air Pollution, Air Quality, and Climate Change

Description

Air pollution affects the regional and global climate both directly and indirectly. Both air pollution and climate change influence each other through complex interactions in the atmosphere. Changing environmental conditions, including increasing temperatures, are expected to cause more extreme weather conditions and increase in ground level ozone. There is ever-growing evidence that drastic air pollution and the worsening of the general air quality pose serious threats to the human health and environment. The interaction between air pollution and climate are nonlinear and continue to be a matter of intense study.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will improve the continuing efforts to understand interaction between air pollution, air quality, and climate. We are interested in articles that explore impact of surface air pollution on urban, regional, and global air quality, human health, vegetation, and radiative forcing and address the complex effect of air pollution on climate change. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Air pollution and quality issues in developing countries
  • Meteorology and air pollution
  • Satellite remote sensing of surface air quality
  • Modeling air quality and climate change
  • Air pollution and geoengineering

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/amet/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/amet/airpol/ according to the following timetable:
