Dual Band Magnonic Crystals: Model System and Basic Spin Wave Dynamics

Frequency gap between the two spin wave bands as a function of the propagation direction. In this case SW propagation is always parallel to the applied field direction (defined in Figure 1). The gap decreases as a consequence of the frequency decrease of the upper band, due to the increasing of the demagnetizing field in the elongated elements of the lattice (secondary sublattice).
