Novel Technologies and Applications for Construction Materials 2016

Description

In this volume, we discuss the recent progress in construction technologies and materials. Materials and manufacturing techniques affect important mechanical properties, durability, and sustainability. The actual tendencies and global developments of novel materials include the introduction of natural and recycled materials in construction. The perspectives are to obtain new construction materials with improved properties at low cost by using easy and novel technologies, being chemically sustainable for the environment. Also special concretes have been used widely in construction industry including infrastructure with special applications such as restoration and strengthening of existing structures against earthquakes. Structural design is another essential building block in construction. Good structural design can fully utilize the potential of construction materials. The financial aspect of materials and products is also very important.

We invite researchers to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the issues relating to novel technologies and applications for construction materials.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cement and concrete in modern construction
  • Brick and block elements in construction design and materials
  • Iron and aluminum advantages as construction materials
  • Role of fine, ultrafine, and nanomaterials in construction
  • Natural construction materials
  • Recycled materials for construction industry
  • Applications in bridge construction
  • Reinforcement materials for construction
  • Rheology/set controllers
  • Measuring performance and test methods
  • Long-term life cycle analysis
  • Simulation in construction technologies and materials
  • Construction project management
