Summary of findings. The combination of tDCS with physical therapy resulted in the greatest improvements in gait velocity in patients with Parkinson’s disease and small vessel disease; physical therapy improved gait, but tDCS alone had no significant effect. Notably, the variability in response was greatest in patients receiving tDCS, indicating that some patients improved more than others.
