Regulation of Hypoxia-Induced Cell Death in Human Tenocytes

Hypoxia rapidly induces HIF-1α expression in human tenocytes. Primary human tenocytes were cultured in DMEM/F12 culture medium containing 10% FCS under normoxic conditions until the cells reached 70% confluence. The cells were exposed to total hypoxia (0.1% O2) for 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 48 h. (a) Representative Western blot for HIF-1α in tenocytes.
