Effect of Coenzyme-Q10 on Doxorubicin-Induced Nephrotoxicity in Rats

Figure 1

Effect of low and high doses of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) on renal (a) reduced glutathione (GSH), (b) catalase, (c) malondialdehyde (MDA), and (d) nitric oxide (nitrite/nitrate) levels in rats exposed to doxorubicin- (Dox-) induced nephrotoxicity. Animal groups tested are control-untreated group, animals treated with low or high dose CoQ10 alone (CoQ10L or CoQ10H, resp.), and animals treated with Dox or with Dox together with low or high CoQ10 dose (Dox/CoQ10L or Dox/CoQ10H, resp.). Values are represented as means ± SE of 6–11 observations. Significant difference compared to control, significant difference compared to Dox, without significant difference from control, and significant difference compared to Dox, with significant difference from control. Significant difference is reported when .
