Advancements in Wear and Technology of Polymeric Composites

Call for Papers

In the recent years, much effort has been placed in the field of polymeric composites involving the study of mechanical and tribological performance of natural and synthetic fiber reinforced polymeric composites. High amount of work has been reported on polymeric composites subjected to static, dynamic, or load bearing applications. As a matter of fact, natural fibres have been reported to have comparable performance as with synthetic glass fibres. This has attracted global automotive industries and manufacturing sectors to incorporate natural fibre composites (NFC) in automotive parts production since the fibres derived from renewable resources are cheap, have lower carbon footprint, are light in weight, and are low in density which makes them easily produced. Worldwide researchers have reported a good number of automotive parts produced from NFCs such as interior sound proving materials, seat cushions, head restraints, interior door paddings, floor panels, and dashboard linings.

Having what is mentioned before this special issue intends to attract novel research articles in the field of advancements in wear and technology of polymeric composites. Review articles highlighting the recent progress, testing procedures, and applications on polymeric composite technology are most welcome. Besides, the following domains related to polymeric composite with novel applications are highly encouraged.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Testing procedures
  • Aging wear
  • Friction wear
  • Mechanical aging
