Detection of p53 by immunohystochemistry and determination of TP53 status by FASAY test. Immunohystochemistry (IHC) is not the best method to determine p53 status. Thus, four different situations are illustrated: (a) p53 is negative on IHC and not mutated on FASAY test; (b) p53 is positive on IHC and mutated on FASAY test (red colonies); (c) p53 is weakly positive on IHC but not mutated on FASAY test (white colonies); (d) p53 is negative on IHC but mutated on FASAY test (for exemple codon Stop on exon 5); Magnification x400. p53 antibody (clone DO-7, DakoCytomation, France) was used.
