Depigmenting Effect of Kojic Acid Esters in Hyperpigmented B16F1 Melanoma Cells

Table 1

The yield of KA esters synthesized by enzymatic esterification using immobilized lipase from Rhizomucor miehei at optimal reaction condition.

CompoundVariablesYield (%)
*Time (h)Temperature (°C)Enzyme (g)Substrate molar ratio (mmol)

KAMO4252.50.330.532.86
KAML1550.00.20534.89
KAMP1250.00.20529.30

A time of enzymatic esterification to achieve maximum concentration of KA esters.
Percentage yield was calculated using following equation:
Yield (%) = ( 𝐶 comp/mole of KA) × dilution factor × 100
𝐶 comp = ( 𝐴 comp/ 𝐴 IS) × ( 𝐶 IS/ 𝐷 RF),
where, 𝐴 comp: area for each component; 𝐴 IS: area for internal standard; 𝐶 IS: concentration for internal standard; 𝐷 RF: 𝐷 RF standard/ 𝐷 RF internal standard; 𝐶 comp: concentration for each component.
