Hexavalent Molybdenum Reduction to Mo-Blue by a Sodium-Dodecyl-Sulfate-Degrading Klebsiella oxytoca Strain DRY14

Molybdate reduction using various electron donors. Strain DRY14 was grown for 24 hours in 50 mL of low phosphate liquid medium containing 10 mM molybdate and various electron donors at the final concentration of 0.2% (w/v). The nitrogen source was 0.3% (w/v) ammonium sulphate. Molybdate reduction was considered negligible if the absorbance at 865 nm is below 0.020. Error bars represent mean ± standard error ( ).
