Modulation of the Effects of Lung Immune Response on Bone Marrow by Oral Antigen Exposure

Splenic T lymphocytes from tolerized donors suppress eosinopoiesis from bone marrow of sensitized/challenged mice in coculture. Bone marrow and spleen cells were collected from OVA/OVA/OVA donors (white columns) and H2O/OVA/OVA (black columns) controls. Eosinophil precursors were separated on Percoll discontinuous gradients and cultured in the presence of IL-5 alone (−) or in coculture with splenic T lymphocytes from either experimental group as indicated, in a 10 : 1 ratio.
