Analysis procedure. Subjects’ gaze data were evaluated through a mathematical procedure able to extract some basic indicators (, , and ) and energy functions (, and ). and were used to calculate variance (, ) to tune the model. Then, using varying parameters , and , model reproduced all valid explorations. Subjects’ and model’s outcomes were compared to understand the selection mechanism.
