Mammary β-casein content at the end of the experiment from DMBA-treated rats. (a) Nulliparous rats (Null) had significantly lower mammary β-casein than rats implanted with 17-β estradiol in the arcuate nucleus (I) or rats after a cycle of pregnancy and lactation (PL) . (b) When classified depending on the development (T) or absence (NT) of mammary tumors, the implanted and primiparous rats developing tumors showed significantly higher levels of mammary β-casein than the corresponding tumor-free rats . Comparisons were performed by ANOVA I.
